About
A themed exhibition at the Andamiro Gwittae Museum pairing famous paintings of tea with the real teapots and cups depicted in them. When the Age of Exploration carried tea from Asia to Europe, it carried the vessels too — and painters began capturing the warmth of teatime in luminous color. From the quiet glow of William McGregor Paxton's 'Tea Leaves' to the silver teapot in Mary Cassatt's 'The Tea', the show lets you stand in front of the scene and the object at once.
