Pasu — standing guard over the capital's walls — was one of the key military rituals of the Joseon dynasty, and this reenactment restores it at Sungnyemun, Korea's National Treasure gate. Guards line up before the gate, the timekeeper announces the hour, conch and trumpet signals sound, and the gate-opening ritual begins on the commander's order, followed by six rounds of guard duty and shift changes before the closing ritual. Runs daily except Mondays, 10:00–15:40, free of charge — an easy add-on to any walk between Seoul Station and Myeong-dong.
